Draft dodgers rag is a song respecting and mocking draft dodgers and what they do. Lines like "i'm only 18
i gotta ruptured spleen and i always carry a purse," are a great example of how he states the real dangers of going into the war ("I'm only 18 i gotta a ruptured spleen"). Then he shows one of the ways that draft dodgers would try to get out of going to war by acting like a homosexual: ("and i always carry a purse").
This protest song is one of the lightest hearted and yet one of the deepest songs that people still play today.
